Jeera concluded with a slight increase of 0.07% at Rs 20,725, bolstered by the swiftly diminishing availability of high-quality bold seeds, even as the overall physical crop supplies remained stable. Daily arrivals at major markets like Unjha and Rajasthan have begun to decline, while blight disease in crucial Gujarat producing regions has diminished both the quality and quantity of the harvestable crop. Production is projected to be between 90 and 92 lakh bags this season, a significant decline from the previous year’s figure of 1.10 crore bags. In Gujarat, production is estimated at 42 to 45 lakh bags, while Rajasthan’s output is anticipated to be between 48 and 50 lakh bags. Global production prospects exhibit variability, with unfavourable weather conditions leading to a reduction in China’s anticipated output to approximately 70,000-80,000 tonnes.

In contrast, Syria, Turkey, and Afghanistan are projected to yield 9,000-10,000 tonnes, 10,000-11,000 tonnes, and 10,000-12,000 tonnes, respectively. However, the potential for upside appears constrained as farmers are actively liquidating stocks to generate cash for Kharif sowing, while favourable weather conditions have expedited harvesting and drying. NCDEX warehouse stocks have also increased, diminishing the urgency among traders, while large spice grinders continue to exercise caution and favour hand-to-mouth procurement. Enhanced production forecasts in Turkey and Syria are exerting pressure on Indian export premiums.

Meanwhile, buyers from Europe and North America have selectively re-entered the market for residue-compliant and high-specification lots, thereby offering some support to demand. India’s jeera exports experienced a significant decline of 34% year-on-year, totalling 10,713 tonnes in June 2026. Additionally, cumulative exports for the April-June period decreased by 25%, amounting to 44,144 tonnes. Robust shipments to Singapore, Oman, and Argentina offered a degree of respite; however, they fell short of counterbalancing the overarching downturn. Unjha spot prices concluded at Rs 20,517.9, reflecting a decline of 0.22%.

Technically, the market is experiencing new buying activity, as open interest has risen by 14.74% to 7,170 contracts, accompanied by a price increase of Rs 15. Jeera exhibits support at Rs 20,640, with a breach below this level likely to test Rs 20,540. Resistance is positioned at Rs 20,810, and a sustained movement above this threshold may propel prices toward Rs 20,880.
