NCDEX Live Updates

Jeera prices concluded at Rs 20,910, reflecting a decline of 0.83%. This decrease can be attributed to farmers actively liquidating their stocks to enhance cash flow for Kharif sowing, coupled with favourable weather conditions that have expedited both harvesting and deliveries. Increasing NCDEX warehouse stocks have diminished the urgency among traders, while major industrial spice grinders are exercising caution, opting to hold off on bulk purchases until prices decline further.

However, the downside remained constrained by the tightening availability of premium-quality bold seeds, as arrivals at Unjha and Rajasthan began to taper significantly. Blight outbreaks in critical producing regions of Gujarat have adversely impacted both crop quality and the availability of harvestable supplies. Production is projected to be between 90 and 92 lakh bags this season, a decrease from last year’s 1.10 crore bags. The output from Gujarat is estimated at 42 to 45 lakh bags, while Rajasthan’s production is anticipated to be between 48 and 50 lakh bags.

China’s cumin production estimate has declined to 70,000-80,000 tonnes due to adverse weather conditions. In comparison, Syria, Turkey, and Afghanistan are projected to produce 9,000-10,000 tonnes, 10,000-11,000 tonnes, and 10,000-12,000 tonnes, respectively. India’s jeera exports experienced a decline of 26% year-on-year, totalling 17,177 tonnes in May 2026. Additionally, exports for the April-May period saw a reduction of 22%, amounting to 33,431 tonnes. However, shipments to Singapore, Yemen, Mexico, and Kenya exhibited robust growth, underscoring the strengthening demand from emerging markets. Unjha spot prices experienced a decrease of 0.48%, settling at Rs 20,670.2.

Technically, the market is experiencing new selling pressure, as open interest has increased by 12.62% to 5,328 contracts, while prices have decreased by Rs 175. Jeera is currently establishing a support level at Rs 20,650. A breach of this threshold may lead to a decline toward Rs 20,400. On the upside, resistance is positioned at Rs 21,210; a sustained move above this level could initiate a recovery toward Rs 21,520.
