Turmeric prices increased by 2.37%, concluding at Rs 15,448, bolstered by below-average arrivals and consistent domestic and export demand. Farmers and stockists have already diminished their inventories, constraining near-term supply and bolstering market strength in anticipation of new crop arrivals. That said, the potential for growth may be limited as arrivals in Erode are anticipated to increase over the coming weeks.

In terms of production, the acreage for the 2025–26 season is projected to reach 3.02 lakh hectares, reflecting an increase of approximately 4% compared to the previous year, with anticipated output estimated at 11.41 lakh tonnes. Dried production is projected at 90 lakh bags, an increase from 82.5 lakh bags in the previous season.

Nonetheless, diminished carry-forward stocks are constraining the overall rise in availability. Weather disruptions, notably heavy rains in certain regions of Maharashtra, have reduced yields in specific areas; however, an increase in acreage is expected to enhance the state’s overall output. Concerns regarding quality persist in the impacted regions. Export demand persists in providing support. During the period from April to November 2025, shipments experienced a year-on-year increase of 4.88%, whereas imports saw a significant decline of 44.52%.

In Nizamabad, prices experienced a slight decline of 0.53%. The market is currently experiencing short covering, as evidenced by a 0.98% decline in open interest. Support levels are identified at Rs 15,188 and Rs 14,928, whereas resistance is positioned at Rs 15,700; a breakout may propel prices towards Rs 15,952.
