Turmeric experienced an increase of 1.81%, closing at Rs 15,090, bolstered by lower-than-average arrivals and consistent demand both domestically and for exports. Farmers and stockists have reportedly diminished their inventories, constraining near-term supplies and bolstering prices in anticipation of the new crop. Nevertheless, potential gains could be limited as new entrants in Erode are anticipated to increase in the coming weeks.

For the 2025–26 season, acreage is estimated at 3.02 lakh hectares, reflecting an increase of approximately 4% year-on-year, with fresh output anticipated at 11.41 lakh tonnes. Dried production is projected at 90 lakh bags, an increase from 82.5 lakh bags in the previous season; however, diminished carry-forward stocks are constraining the overall increase in availability. Weather disruptions and disease challenges in certain regions of Maharashtra have reduced yields; however, an increase in acreage is expected to enhance the state’s overall output.

Export performance continues to show positive trends, as shipments from April to November 2025 increased by 4.88% compared to the previous year, whereas imports have experienced a significant decline. Quality-grade supplies are likely to benefit from the growing implementation of Integrated Pest Management practices, which assist in fulfilling EU standards. In Nizamabad, spot prices have experienced a modest decline, settling at Rs 15,555.

From a technical perspective, the market exhibits renewed buying interest, as evidenced by a 1.23% increase in open interest. Support levels are identified at Rs 14,600 and Rs 14,110, whereas resistance levels are positioned at Rs 15,490 and Rs 15,890.
