Jeera prices experienced a modest increase of 0.38%, reaching Rs 22,205, driven by weather-related disruptions and delays in sowing across key producing areas. In Gujarat, the irregularity of rainfall has impeded field preparations, resulting in one of the most sluggish sowing seasons observed in recent years. The limited arrivals at Unjha, alongside robust demand for high-quality produce, have contributed to the stability of prices. Nonetheless, the potential for upward movement is constrained by ample domestic supplies and a lack of enthusiasm in export markets, as international purchasers exhibit caution and sensitivity to pricing.

Export demand from Gulf nations and China has seen a slight improvement; however, it remains sluggish, hindered by sufficient global stocks and logistical challenges in India and the Middle East. Farmers presently possess approximately 20 lakh bags of jeera, yet it is anticipated that merely 3–4 lakh bags will be traded prior to the conclusion of the season, resulting in a substantial carry-forward inventory of around 16 lakh bags. Current season production is projected at 90–92 lakh bags, a decrease from last year’s 1.10 crore bags.

Gujarat is expected to yield 42–45 lakh bags, while Rajasthan is anticipated to produce 48–50 lakh bags. Meanwhile, adverse weather conditions have curtailed production in other nations, including China, Turkey, Syria, and Afghanistan; however, this has not resulted in notable export increases for India. During the period from April to September 2025, jeera exports experienced a decline of 14.51%. However, shipments in September reflected a year-on-year increase of 2.20% and a robust month-on-month rise of 22.93%.

Jeera is currently experiencing new buying activity, as indicated by a 1.25% increase in open interest to 3,156, alongside a price rise of Rs 85. Support is positioned at Rs 21,990, with potential further decline towards Rs 21,760. Resistance stands at Rs 22,370, and a breakout beyond this level could propel prices toward Rs 22,520.
