In the interim, stocks held by farmers in Warangal are nearing depletion, as there have been no new arrivals in recent days, thereby exacerbating the constraints on availability.
Nonetheless, the potential for further gains appears limited, as beneficial rainfall during the sowing period has prompted an increase in acreage, with projections indicating a rise of 15–20%. In the 2024–25 period, the area dedicated to turmeric cultivation has expanded to 3.30 lakh hectares, reflecting a 10% increase compared to the previous season. Daily inflows continue to be strong, ranging from 1,000 to 1,200 bags, with nearly 50% of the new crop already marketed. Arrivals are projected to persist until June. During the period from April to September 2025, shipments for exports increased by 4.02%, totaling 96,679.67 tonnes, while September exports experienced a year-on-year rise of 7.59%. From a technical perspective, turmeric is experiencing short covering, evidenced by a 12.85% decline in open interest to 8,750, alongside a price increase of Rs 358. The commodity currently has support at Rs 13,840, with potential for further decline towards Rs 13,234. Resistance is identified at Rs 14,826; a breakout above this threshold could drive prices up to Rs 15,206.
